Superboy (1st series) / Superboy (2nd Series - TV Series) / The Adventures of Superboy (TV series)

Superboy (1st series), 121 issues

The original Superboy comic book series featured Clark Kent as a teenager, and continued as Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes for issue 222. However, the Legion of Superheroes shared cover billing on the Superboy comics beginning with issue 197 onward, which makes things quite confusing for collectors! A second comic book series titled Superboy (shown below on this page) was published in 1990, based on the 1988 live action TV series. A third Superboy series was published in 1994, which featured a new version of the character, Conner Kent.

Superboy / The Adventures of Superboy (TV Series), 23 issues

This Superboy series began in 1990 and falls outside of the main DC storyline as it is based on the live action TV program that ran for four seasons, from 1988 to 1992. As such, this series is not considered as Volume 2 of the Superboy comic book series even though it is technically the second series of comics to be titled Superboy. The TV series outlasted the comic book series which ran for 23 issues, including one "Special" issue. The cover of the 1st issue of the comic book series is shown as Superboy the Comic Book, however it is listed on the inside credits simply as Superboy. The title of the comic was changed for issue 11 to The Adventures of Superboy, which is not to be confused with The New Adventures of Superboy. This comic series was followed by a third Superboy series in 1994.
